Anis & Zahirul + 1
This entry is dedicated to my dearest buddy, Anis. I did blog about her and her S.O a few entries back entitled Zahirul & Anis a classic love story.
I got a SMS on 14th of January at around 12:20noon. It read:
"Alhamdulillah...i'm 4 weeks pregnant...."
I literally jumped out of bed (I was watching 'Sex & The City' on hubby's 'mistress') and called her. I couldn't be anymore happier. We talked for about an hour how everything seemed to make sense, her nausea, her appetite, her sensitiveness and how people keep asking her whether she is pregnant. Indeed she is!
For those who have faithfully (and without prejudice) been reading my blog and checking out my profile, I'm sure you know how much this lady means to me. Anis is practically everywhere every time I need her, in sickness and health. And for all the good deeds, now she's enjoying the fruit of her labor after about 8 months of trying. "Usaha tangga kejayaan" she playfully screamed during a lecture. Very true indeed. Check out her blog and you'll know.
Naturally, I'm more excited than anyone could be. Remember the pregnancy book that I got for RM12? That was the first thing that I help Anis with. Then I started browsing for the 'Day2Day Pregnancy' calendar for her, not forgetting some useful blogs for mummy-to-be. I don't know if Daphne Iking's blog is much of a help as she delivered her beautiful daughter via C-sec and knowing Anis, this girl can endure any pain hence there's no way she's avoiding the natural labor pain. Perhaps Daphne's first experience as a mommy may come in handy. And Ryan's (Daph's hubby) calmness may works its charm for Zahirul too.
The obvious thing about Anis now is her radiant complexion, if you notice in her default snapshot (besides people keep complaining how she has put a hefty amount of weight ever since she got married, heheh ampun Nis). Not only that, as a person who's always around her I feel a certain happiness of which I can't figure out what it is. Lately I'm feeling chirpy when I hang out with her. Maybe the excitement, I don't know. As for Anis, emotional turmoil may come her way but as long as she has loving friends and family members she'll do just fine. Now I can't wait for her baby bump to show which means we can go shopping for maternity gears. Yay!! So far her craving is not kicking in just yet and am a bit sad as now I've got no Starbucks and vanilla coke buddy. Snapping out of that, on the bright side I know I'd be the greatest aunt the baby would ever get!
It's funny when I delivered the news to my coursemates about pregger Anis, they seemed to associate the pregnancy with me. Just because we're best buddies doesn't mean we have to be pregnant together now do we? I got questions like,
1. What about you? Any good news?
2. Ko ni bila lagi ha? (Sambil picit perut, adoii sakit tau...)
3. Akak bila lagi?
4. Akak macam mana?
Only Aishah & Amer offered me comforting words, "Sabar ye kak, belum rezeki, cuba lagi." "Sabar Sab, belum rezeki lagi, nanti ada la tu" That brought a lump to my throat. Very sweet of them to see my situation in a different perspective. Perhaps when it comes to pregnancy my friends might think there's a rivalry between me and Anis. Just a speculation, I'm not sure myself. All I know that I'm genuinely happy for her, no pressure and I'm not in denial either. When Allah SWT says it's my time then it will happen. After all I'm not really trying as my savings won't permit me to give the best for my child. I will wait. I wish to thank my friends who are really concern as what you say may become doa, who knows? Keep praying eh.
Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS Anis & Zahirul! I'm happy that I get to be with her during practicum and that give me the privilege to experience the pregnancy! I can't wait for her first ultrasound, can't wait to assist her on the documentation of her precious, can't wait to rub her back should she vomit, can't wait to praise on her looks even though she bloats like a puffer fish, can't wait for her to finalize on the names...So many things to look forward to. And as a friend I know one thing, Anis is going to make a great mom. That I'm very sure of.
